Bronx Truck Accident

Early yesterday morning, seven people were injured in a major crash involving two trucks and several other vehicles on the New England Thruway in the New York City borough of the Bronx.
The New England Thruway, which is the stretch of I-95 through the state of New York between the George Washington Bridge and Westchester County, happened in the southbound lanes of the highway just before 1 a.m. Sunday near Conner Street in the Eastchester section of the Bronx.
A church van carrying five people was trying to exit the highway at Exit 14-Conner Street, when it clipped a box truck. The truck then jackknifed, slammed into the median and then crashed into a third car. All five of the van’s passengers and two passengers from the third car were taken to local hospitals. At least three of the injured were seriously hurt, but their conditions have stabilized.
One of the truck drivers is facing charges for unlicensed operation of a vehicle, but cops said he did not appear responsible for the collision.
An experience like this proves that you can’t always rely on others driving around you to drive safely – you may not cause an accident, but another driver on the road can and you have no control over that.
