New York City is filled with massive skyscrapers on almost every street. Because these buildings are so tall, they require several elevators and escalators to help people get from one floor to floor. Many people use elevators and escalators every day. Most do not think of these machines as dangerous, however, accidents can happen if they malfunction. When mistakes happen or if a manufacturer cuts corners during production, these machines can become defective and cause serious injuries.
